I have been up to my eyeballs in work lately, revamping my store, preparing for BlogHer and managing a hectic workload at the office. It’s starting to take a toll on me and my kids; I’ve been feeling some major mommy guilt lately. The kids have been constantly battling for mom’s attention and juggling them both can leave me stressed by the end of the day.

This is why I decided to pull out my Mommy Confidence book by Kimberly Clayton. It’s a short but sweet book that covers all the issues that moms go through during their role as MOM.

This is the perfect book to read when you are feeling overwhelmed and underappreciated. Mommy Confidence helps mommies build inner strength, confidence and motivation. I love the Mommy Words of Wisdom scattered throughout the book, like:

No one really sees or cares about your flaws but you. Most people are too preoccupied with themselves, so give yourself a break.

As moms it is important that we do not judge ourselves as mothers and it’s also important that we maintain a sense of self by following our own dreams and desires. If we want to work outside of the home, then we should. If we want to be work-at-home moms then that is the goal we should strive for. If we want to home school or be stay–at-home moms then we should follow our passions.

If you are feeling overworked and overwhelmed then pick up Mommy Confidence: 8 Easy Steps to Reclaiming Balance, Motivation and Your Inner Diva by Kimberley Clayton Blaine, M.A., M.F.T.  Kimberly’s book explains how to choose a parenting style that compliments your personality, makes your dreams a reality, breaks the cycle of mommy competition and helps you create your life wish list, all to become a better mommy.

Kimberly is a licensed child and family therapist, author, public speaker, and the founder of the revolutionary interactive show, hwww.TheGoToMom.TV, where she is bridging the gap between parenting and technology. She lives in California with her husband and two boys.
