Eco-Friendly Shoes For On The Go

I can't tell you how much I just love love love to find clothing, shoes and accessories that are stylish, comofortable AND eco-friendly.  It feels like a three in one special!

Kigo Footwear sent me a pair of their shoes to try, and I tell you what -- the word "comfort" does not do these shoes justice.  I feel as though I'm almost barefoot, a feature that is highly appealing to my beach bum footsies.  The main impetus to the creation of Kigo shoes was to have a stylish and comfortable shoe that was entirely portable.  Kigo has succeeded, in that they have a shoe that folds in half, is squishy and can be shoved into any crevice of my bag, and pops back open into the same stylish shape.  It's fun, and the light factor (the shoes only weigh in at .7lbs) also adds to their lovliness.  There are two styles, the Star (Mary Jane shape) and the Shel (unisex sipper type shape), and several coombinations of grey, orange and lime colors to choose from.

So about that green factor -- take a look at the materials used for these shoes:

The uppers were milk jugs in a former life, the cements are water based, the storage bag is made from biodegradable cornstarch, and the packaging is recycled corrugate with eco-friendly inks. The water/stain resistance is remarkable – the EPA and FDA approved treatment is almost totally protective of water, salt or other elements (we even tested it with coffee).

These shoes quickly became my go-to shoes for running out to the store, to take the kids to karate, and best yet -- to travel in.  I like to always have them on hand whenever I want to find something quick.  I think these shoes are super affordable, and are really the whole "package" for that durable eco-friendly shoe you've been looking for.
