Why can’t maternity leave start before delivery? Good question. It only makes sense. But until that law gets passed, you’ve got to manage both. 

 

The interrupted sleep, the commute, the difficulty of concentrating and remembering things, the general discomfort and constant comments about your size and when you will deliver--may make work more difficult. With more sleeplessness and that inevitable waddle, TGIF will have a new meaning.

One of the many strange elements of pregnancy are those darn cravings. These are uncontrollable, strong desires for strange and varied foods, drinks, cookies, spices, snacks, ice cream or any combination thereof.

 

In my first pregnancy, I craved sour for the first two trimesters. Sour Blow Pops, sour worms and stuff like that. Later, I was all about the Mexican food.

I’m always thinking about ways to relax. Trust me, in pregnancy and motherhood, everybody needs to find their way to relax. My girlfriend Gina Stern, who owns D_parture Spa in Newark Airport, loves to relax by swinging in a hammock.  Not too long ago, I was having a major mommy meltdown. She suggested we take the hammock to the beach and sit near the ocean. I suggested she was crazy and not at all listening to what I was saying. How can swinging in a hammock help me when I’m having a  business and personal crisis!
