Back in mid-August, Audrey and I started talking with Lifetime about covering Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on behalf of Lifetime Moms.  After a breathless month of phone calls and hundreds of emails, we found ourselves in the middle of NYC toting suitcases stuffed with our entire wardrobes, our MacBooks, official "Press" credentials, and giant smiles on our faces.  How awesome was this?  Two fashion-loving moms, in for a week of fun - watching pretty people sashay down the runwa

It's official:  I'm a fan.  A huge, ginormous, crazy fan. 

You see, back in August I had a huge confession to make.  Ack!  It pains me even to remind you all that until Season 6, I had never watched Project Runway.

I know, I may as well make the shape of an "L" with my finger and my thumb and stamp "loser" on my forehead.  And I call myself a fashionista?  Oy-vey.

I’m a lot of things- fashionista isn’t one of them. So as thrilled as I was to attend the Miramax/Lifetime/Marie Claire Project Runway Party in New York at the end of Fashion Week, I was a bit apprehensive, as well.

Would there be actual Fashion Police? Would designer tags be checked at the door? Would they let my under two-inch heels tap across the floor of the famed Hearst Building? (The greenest building on the planet, thank you very much.)

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is over.  Fashion is NYC and NYC is fashion, so it's bittersweet seeing the tent lights go out at Bryant Park.  Spring 2010 is all about fun, flirty and (quite honestly) wearable fashions.  From bold and bright colors to neutral color palettes.  From silk fabrics to a feminine twist on the power suit.  From short minis to lots of leggings.  Spring 2010 fashion will guarantee happiness and energy and color and vibrance... and there will be something for everyone, I promise.

I still remember watching “Project Runway’s” very first episode in December of 2004. I was absolutely drawn to the show because of my love of fashion. I was living in NYC, had just left my full-time job at Donna Karan after having my first son William, and just needed to be around fashion -- even if it just meant watching it on TV.
