5 Tips to Bring Sexy Back After Baby

I know, you're thinking that after having a baby is NOT the time to even think about being sexy. With a baby needing your constant attention, full and leaking breasts, and feeling more exhausted than you thought possible, you just might not feel like the hot sexy mama that you want to be. And even when you are ready, unfortunately, it may be hard to just find the time for you and your hubby to have alone time.

With romance in the air this month, you can try these tips to help bring your sexy back, and ultimately, just focus on you for a bit (because we all know that moms put everyone else ahead of them way too often).

1. Take the time to pamper yourself. Get a facial, a new hairdo, or a mani/pedi. Schedule an appointment to do whatever makes you feel more like a woman, and not just a mom. Spending time on yourself is important, because it can help relieve stress, give you relaxation, and remind you of who you are.  This “me time” will rejuvenate you and can even help you be a better wife and mom.

2. Buy some new pajamas. Tuck the nursing bra and nightgown away for the night and find pajamas that make you feel attractive. Don’t worry about buying lingerie that will only feel uncomfortable and make you feel self-conscious.  Find something that you love, whether it is super-soft cotton, shiny satin or delicate lace and have fun flaunting it.

3. Plan a date with your husband (or significant other). Get a babysitter or call the grandparents to give you at least a few hours alone together to enjoy a grown up meal, where you don’t have to cut someone else’s food.

4. Remember how fun it is to flirt. Send a sexy email or text to your partner during the day to let him know that you are thinking of him. Enjoy teasing, joking, and chatting with him about anything but the kids. Focus on just the two of you and make him yearn to get home!

5. Be flexible. No, I don’t mean you need to crack open the Kama Sutra (unless you want to!), but you should be willing to be passionate with your partner at different times.  If you are just too tired at night to do anything but fall fast asleep, you may want to try sex in the morning, or while baby is napping during the day. It may also mean that you need to schedule your alone time, but this can remind both you and your partner about the importance of intimacy.

More than anything, as a mom remember to rest and take care of yourself, too. As you get energy, you’ll find even more ways to bring back your sexy!
