The glitz and glam comes out every year when the Academy Awards come to Hollywood. On Sunday, February 26th, Hollywood rolls out the red carpet and celebrates the year in movies. You can join in the fun with these Red Carpet Cupcakes. They are easy to make and can be adapted well for a crowd.
Red Carpet Oscar Cupcakes Supplies:
● Cupcakes - your favorite flavor {I baked vanilla in gold liners}
● Frosting colored red
● Yellow candy melts
● Wax Paper
● Plastic squeeze bottle
● Gold sprinkles {optional}
Directions for making the award:
1. Save and print the picture of the award {below}
2. Melt yellow candy melts in the microwave - amount will depend on how many awards you are planning to make
3. Place melted chocolate in plastic squeeze bottle
4. Place picture of award of a flat surface and lay wax paper on top
5. Squeeze out chocolate following outline of award
6. Add gold sprinkles if you want
7. Place in fridge about 5 minutes or until set
Directions for Red Carpet Display:
1. Bake and frost cupcakes with red frosting
2. Add gold sprinkles, add award
3. For the ropes going up the stairs, push a short skewer into a gum drop and attach a piece of gold ribbon
