The Lensbaby Composer is more than just a lens – it’s a tool that inspires creativity. I recently was given the opportunity to try Lensbaby with my own camera and I love how creative you can get with your pictures. If you are looking for the perfect gift for a photography loving mom then the Lensbaby Composer is a great option.
The Lensbaby is a selective focus lens, allowing you to pick one part of the frame to focus on no matter where it is. You can control how much is in focus with a set of aperture disks. The Lensbaby sits on a ball and socket system making it easy for the photography to choose the focal point of preference. The Lensbaby comes with magnetic aperture sets that allow you to achieve aperture the following settings f/2, f/2.8, f/4, f.5.6, f/8, f/11, f/16 and f/22. All you have to do is interchange the aperture disks.
Here are some practice shots I took they day the lens arrived.

In addition, you can add interchangeable optics to your LensBaby allowing you to create some trademark selective looks – Double Glass, Single Glass, Plastic, Fisheye, Soft Focus and Pinhole. They have even added some great accessories – 0.6x Wide Angle, 1.6x Telephoto and Marco kit to help you explore creatively.
The Lensbaby Composer is a manual focus 50mm lens that is only limited by the photographer’s imagination. Lensbaby also makes two other lenses – the muse, and control freak. The muse allows you to focus and then bend the lens to your Sweet Spot. Control Freak allows you to compress and bend the lens to find your desired Sweet Spot, then just look it in place and start shooting.
Price: $270.00
