Turqouise is the Color of 2010!
Isn't that cool? Every year, there's an "it" color.
(I didn't determine this on my own.)
So who does determine this? Pantone.
Pantone tracks colors in the fashion and home-décor industries, they are the "powers that be" who decide what will be the next BIG and IT color. Not a bad job, huh? Pantone's executive director said, "It was the obvious choice because it's soothing and makes people think of being on vacation, which we all need after the tough year of 2009."
I have to say... whether it's a vacation you're heading to or not, Turqouise really does evoke feelings of tranquilness and serenity. I don't have a ton of Turqouise things in my closet, so I'm going to take my own fashion advice here and add some "key" pieces. It doesn't have to be an actual clothing item, think accessories - jewelry, handbags, socks, scarves. Turqouise is such a fabulous color to wear in the summer, too. It brightens. It shines. It soothes. Even down to earrings. Why not look for a Turqouise swimsuit this year!
