Great Books for Summer Reading
Finding time to sit down with a good book on couch or on the beach seems so far from reality to me, I haven’t picked up a novel just for the sake of reading in years. Nearly five to be exact, but ask me how many times I’ve read "Green Eggs and Ham" or "Little Miss Giggles" in the past year and we’re talking record breaking numbers. I can recite "Green Eggs and Ham" verbatim.
So what will I be reading this summer…

Little Miss Chatterbox – Another book in the series', Mr. Men and Little Miss by Roger Hargreaves. This book is the pure definition of my almost 5 year old, she just keeps going, and going and going. I’ll also be picking up "Mr. Clumsy" for my son who seems to have been lucky to pick up my clumsy gene. Sorry kid. You can find the Mr. Men and Little Miss collection online or at your local bookstore.

"Do Princesses Wear Hiking Boots?" by Carmela LaVingna Coyle. This book was suggested by my daughter’s new school as a way to help prepare her for kindergarten. Another one of my favorites in the series is "Princesses Are Not Quitters".
"Kindergarten Rocks" by Katie Davis – Since my daughter is off to the “big kid” school this year, I thought we should start reading this book to start getting her prepared.
"Once Upon a Potty" by Alona Frankel – It’s that time again, potty training time in my house, we read the female version of this book to my daughter and it seemed to work well. So we’ll be reading this one to my son this summer as he learns to use the potty. This book is also available as a kit with a toilet training toilet, however my daughter much preferred the big kid toilet.
If I have time I’ll try and squeeze in a few books for myself that I can easily upload onto my Nook E-Reader.
"The 9th Judgement" – A novel written by James Patterson in his Women’s Murder Club Series, I remember reading some of the other books in the series before I had kids and really enjoyed them. "The 9th Judgment" is available as an eBook as well so you can save some paper and some money.

"Mom 3.0: Marketing with Today’s Mother’s by Leveraging New Media & Technology"- A book written by Maria Bailey, a recognized marketing trend specialist, which discusses marketing .to today’s mothers and tomorrow’s technology. "Mom 3.0" is available on Amazon.com.
Photographing Children Photo Workshop: Develop Your Digital Photography Talent – Ever since I bought my camera, I’ve wanted to go out and take pictures. Photographic Children Photo Workshop was written by Ginny Felch.
Even though most of the books on my list are for my kids, I’m going to do my best to read the books on my list as well. What books are “required” reading for you this summer? What books are you going to read just for fun?
